The
Ontario Dirt Late Models capped off a successful 2008
racing season, with their annual Christmas Party and
Awards Night, held on December 6th in
Blenheim, ON.
Teams travelled from NY and PA, the Port Colborne area
and the Windsor/Chatham area, to receive their share
of a record $16,000 point fund.
Participants
were also recognized for various awards.
Headlining
the night, was Greg Oakes from Franklinville, NY.,
dubbed Mr. Consistency . Gregs smooth driving and
consistenly finishing in the top 3, lead him to be the
Ontario Dirt Late Model Champion of 08. Greg earned
a $4000 pay, as well as receiving a championship
trophy and 1/24 replica model of his #22 dirt car.
Also
honoured was Chris Ross of Wallaceburg, Ontario. Chris
finished 2nd in points and received a pay
of $2000 for his valiant efforts.. He was also
presented a trophy cup, for his Civic Holiday
Challenge Event win. Chris rose to the top with the
most points accumulated over a two day event held at
Merrittville Speedway on August 2 and Humberstone
Speedway on August 3.
Over the 4 event season, Chris made the most
advancement in his starting positions, to earn him the
2008 Hard Charger Award.
Adam
Ferri of Port Colborne placed 3rd
in the point standings. This is Adams first
full year for competing in a super late model. His share of the point fund
was $1700.

present were 16th place finisher Keith

All
drivers received gift certificates from Keizer
Aluminum Wheels and a placement trophy plaque. Driver
prizes were randomly drawen and individuals won
anything from cases of oil to a dozen custom made
hats.

Dedication to the ODLM Sherry Lemesurier
A
special award was presented to Garry Lemesurier, for
his outstanding 50 years ofcontributing to Motorsports
and for his retirement. He received a gold 1/24 scale
model of his 50th anniversary paint scheme
from his dirt late model.
For
anything to be successful, you have to have the
support of many individuals. These people were also
recognized on December 6th.
