Veteran racer, Jim Jones of Chatham , Ontario is celebrating his 34th year in motorsports and the running of his # 34 in all those seasons. He hopes to have some good luck this year running with the ODLM Series. Jim was the South Buxton Raceway late model champion back in 2004.
The racing bug hit Jim when he was just young, having many wonderful memories shared with his late father, taking him to the local dirt tracks – South Buxton Raceway/Raleigh Raceway and Ridge Raceway. Thirty –four years later, Jim is hoping to take his Mastersbilt car to Victory Lane.
Asked why he likes to support the ODLM, Jim responded by stating “ I like to travel as much as my budget will allow me to. I enjoy racing with familiar racers, as well as the excitement of racing with new drivers . It is nice to experience new tracks, and my crew and I enjoy the camaderie that the ODLM provides.” Jim cites Brockville Speedway and Oakshade Raceway, as two of his favourite tracks to run at.
Jim could not do this without his crew, who consists of Doug Buchanan, Dave Johnston, Bill Johnston, Judy Shaw and Brad
Wannocott.
Equally important are the marketing partners Jim carries on his car. They include Essex Ready Mix, Solid Concrete (Windsor), All Canadian Tools, Lucas Oil and of course, the wallet of the racer himself – Jim Jones.
