What do you do between November and April on those long winter days, especially when you are a racer?
You go Karting!
An opportunity for these racers, was presented by ODLM marketing director Ron Piotrowski and Formula Kartways owner Matt Coffey of Brampton.
Dirt racers and asphalt racers took to the inside karting facility on Sunday February 22nd, with Team Brampton coming out as the overall winners of the 2 hour endurance race. That team consisted on Ron Piotrowski and brothers Dan and Dennis Bois.
Ron Piotrowski scored the fastest overall time of the day.
Following in second place were ODLM drivers and crew Team Haskell. Brothers Jason and Pat and friend Beau Smith. In third place were 3 Chatham Sport Stock drivers, dubbed the Ring Team 1. Those included 2008 SSChampion Louis Clements and brothers Eric and Eren
Vanderviere.
Honourable mention should also be recognized to the Tupperville Twisters Team consisting of Chris Ross, Gregg Haskell and Doug Weaver. Had they not had problems, they would have been strong contenders for the win! Chris also earned the second fastest lap time of the day!
Placement trophies and prizes were given to the top 3 finishing teams.
A luncheon was served to all participants and family after the exciting 2 hours of racing.
Also participating teams were the following -
92 Team - Charles Brush, Adam West, Keith Cameron
92 Crew - Lonnie Filiault, Chris Foster, Neil McKay
Team 4 - Linda Field, Brad Simpson, Brandon Smyth
Tech Team - Dave & Rob King, Joe Field
Port Colborne Boys - Rick Baker, Dwayne Winfield, Andy Muskat
Ring Team 2 - Steve Clements, Mark Arnew, Mark Jackson
Ring Team 3 - Lee Browning, Paul Vanderviere, Mike Leguie
Thank you to Formula Kartways of Brampton for an excellent racing venue for the guys (and gal) to participate in!
